Abstract
Background: Delivery by caesarean section (SC) is a caesarean section delivery which is carried out by cutting open the mother's abdomen to remove the baby. Mothers who undergo SC surgery will feel pain in the area of the incision wound and will gradually recover over 6 weeks, while for recovery the problem of numbness, soreness or itching around the wound can last up to 6 months. Nursing actions that can be carried out are foot and hand massage. Objectif: To analyze pain nursing care by applying foot hand massage to post SC patients at RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen. Methods: This paper uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The case study instrument uses a nursing documentation format, an observation sheet recording the results of observations of the pain scale before and after the foot hand massage and SOP for foot hand massage. The subjects consisted of 5 post sectio caesarea patients. Implementation took 3 days. Data were analyzed descriptively by nursing care. Results: The results of the case study show that the pain nursing problem has not been resolved according to indications (increased pain complaints, increased grimaces, increased anxiety). The five patients experienced a decrease in pain complaints from moderate pain before application of foot hand massage and improved to no pain and mild pain on the third day of application. Recommendation: It is hoped that nurses can use foot hand massage therapy in post-SC surgery patients as a non-pharmacological treatment to reduce pain. And can be a reference for patients and their families in dealing with acute pain by applying it when needed.
