Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a type of non-communicable disease that can lead to death. The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is 34.5% in 2022. On will experience wall thickening which results in a buildup of collagen in the muscles, causing narrowing of blood vessels resulting in hypertension. Collagen is one of the factors that plays a role in the occurrence of atherosclerosis that requires certain physical activity or exercise that has been proven to be effective in lowering blood pressure, including ergonomic gymnastics and low impact aerobic gymnastics. Aim: The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of ergonomic exercise and low impact aerobic exercise on changes in blood pressure in hypertensive in Gemeksekti Village. Method: This research is quantitative research using the Quasi Experimental method (pre-post test design). Data was collected from 16 people aged 45-59 years in Gemeksekti Village using observation sheets. Result: Blood pressure before and after ergonomic exercise decreased with a difference between systole of 24.38 mmHg and diastole of 10.6 mmHg. Low impact aerobic exercise also decreased blood pressure with a difference between cytole 21.25 mmHg and diastole 11.75 mmHg. Conclusion: Ergonomic exercise is more effective in reducing systolic blood pressure, while low impact aerobic exercise is effective in reducing diastolic blood pressure. Recommendation: It is hoped that the next researcher can add other variables such as diet, stress level, and physical activity.
