Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease, but it can be a serious and risky health problem, so you need to be careful. Hypertension increases blood pressure due to obstruction of the supply of oxygen and nutrients carried throughout the body, increasing systolic blood pressure >140 mmHg and diastolic >90 mmHg or more. Management of hypertensive patients is carried out both pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically. One of the safe nonpharmacological methods for foot reflexology therapy, which can reduce pain intensity and blood pressure. Objective: describes nursing care for hypertensive patients using foot reflexology massage therapy to reduce high blood pressure and pain intensity. Method: This research uses a descriptive method through a case study approach. Data was obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The response to this study consisted of 3 hypertensive patients who complained of pain, who met the inclusion criteria for the instruments used in the assessment format, sphygmomanometer, thermometer, telon/handbody oil, foot reflexology massage therapy SOP, observation sheet. Results: After the respondents underwent therapy for 3 consecutive days, the three respondents experienced a decrease in blood pressure and pain intensity. Conclusion: Foot reflexology massage can reduce blood pressure and pain in people with hypertension.
