Abstract

Background: Hypertension occurs when systolic blood pressure increases above 140 mmHg and/or diastolic pressure above 90 mmHg. Factors that trigger hypertension are gender, age, obesity, genetics, alcohol, stress, lack of exercise, excessive salt intake, smoking, and family history of hypertension. If hypertension is not treated immediately, it can cause complications such as heart disease, stroke and kidney disease. Symptoms experienced by hypertension are dizziness, pain, difficulty sleeping, getting tired easily, a heavy head and a tense neck. Hypertension treatment can be done using pharmacological and non-pharmacological techniques. One of the non-pharmacological treatments for lowering blood pressure is doing SEFT therapy, because SEFT therapy can free the mind from the body's energy so that it relaxes the blood vessels and allows blood to flow without obstacles so that hypertension does not occur. Objective: Describe nursing care for hypertension elderly to full fin tense acute pain and comfort needs. Method: This scientific paper was descriptive with a case studi approached. Data obtained from studied, interviews and observations with three respondents who suffered from hypertension. Result: After implementing Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy for 3 consecutive days, the three clients' blood pressure decreased with an average decrease in systolic pressure of 5-10 mmHg and diastolic pressure of 5 mmHg. Recommendation: Hypertension sufferers can be treated with SEFT therapy as a non-pharmacological therapy to lower blood pressure.
