Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a major health problem in both developed and developing countries. High blood pressure is a non-communicable disease and one of the complications that cause the number of deaths worldwide each year. Purpose: Knowing the Overview of Stroke Prevention Efforts in Patients with Hypertension in the Sempor II Health Centre Working Area. Methods: This research is quantitative using a descriptive design. Sampling is in accordance with the sample criteria set by the researcher, as many as 135 respondents with purposive sampling technique. Results: The results of this study showed the average age of 56-65 years as many as 67 respondents (49.6%), female gender as many as 106 respondents (78.5%), elementary school education as many as 79 respondents (58.5%), IRT work as many as 84 respondents (62.2%), long suffering from HT less than 5 years as many as 98 respondents (72.6%), blood pressure results Hypertension Degree I as many as 61 respondents (45.2%), adherence to taking moderate medication as many as 47 respondents (34.8%), good physical activity 111 respondents (82.2%), and good diet as many as 87 respondents (64.4%). Conclusion: Stroke prevention efforts in hypertensive patients in the Smepor II Puskesmas Working Area with the Good category Recommendation: Future researchers are expected to examine factors associated with stroke prevention efforts in patients with hypertension.
