Abstract
Background: Based on the findings of Riskesdas 2018, Central Java Province has a higher prevalence of ISPA than the national average of 4.6%, so this is a problem that must be overcome both independently and with the help of medical experts. One of the complementary therapies to treat ISPA is ginger and honey therapy which can be used to overcome the problem of ineffective airway clearance in ISPA patients. Objective: Describes the administration of ginger and honey for airway uneffectively treatment in children with ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection). Research Method: This Scientific Paper uses a descriptive method with a case report approach. Data was obtained through interviews, observations, measurements, and documentation of respondents of 3 patients diagnosed with ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection). Case Study Results: After being cared for, airway cleaning nursing was ineffective with the administration of ginger and honey therapy for 6 consecutive days of administration of sputum production, decreased breathing sound, decreased chest wall pull, normal respiratory rate. Conclusion: Nonpharmacological therapy of ginger and honey has been proven to be effective in reducing symptoms in patients with ARI. Recommendation: Patients are advised to continue traditional therapy of ginger and honey independently at home to prevent signs and symptoms of ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection) from reappearing.
