Abstract
Introduction: World Health Organization (WHO) data concerning the incidence of stunting in Southeast Asia in 2020 showed that Indonesia ranked the second highest, namely 31.8%. Stunting is caused by chronic nutritional deficiency which inhibits long-term growth. Non-pharmacological therapies like Tuina massages and Citronella Oil Aromatherapy for stunted children are rarely used. They can improve blood circulation in the spleen and digestive system increasing appetite and optimal nutrition absorption leading to weight gain. Objective: To apply Tuina massages and citronella oil aromatherapy to help children under five gain weight. Method: This descriptive-analytical study used a case study design involving 3 participants. It involved children under five aged 1-5 years who did not experience weight loss in the last month. The exclusion criteria were children with congenital disabilities/abnormalities in the digestive organs and are not willing to participate. Data analysis used univariate analysis to identify respondents' characteristics and the weight difference before and after the intervention. Data were obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. Results: Before getting Tuina massages and citronella oil aromatherapy, 2 participants experienced weight loss, and another participant had a constant weight. After the intervention for 7 days, all three participants (100%) experienced weight gain. Conclusion: The application of Tuina massages and Citronella Oil Aromatherapy influences children's weight gain.
