Abstract

Background, The aquadest extract of ganitri leaves (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb.) has high antioxidant activity, namely flavonoids and phenols that can solve the problem of skin aging by being developed into an emulgel to increase comfort and effectiveness of use. Efforts to obtain an optimal emulgel formula that has good physical quality need to be optimized with the design expert 13 application. Objectives, make a formula for emulgel of aquadest extract of ganitri leaves (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb.) with physical quality preparations that meet the requirements as an alternative preparation that the community can use. Research Methods, This study includes experimental research, where a formula design will be made using the Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) method using the help of the design expert 13 application with variations of tween 80 and span 80 emulgators then evaluating the emulgel preparation analyzed by the One Sample T- Test method using the help of the SPSS application. Research Results, Using tween 80 and span 80 emulgators can produce emulgels with physical qualities that meet the requirements including viscosity, adhesion, and maximum spread. Emulgel preparations also meet the requirements of organoleptic evaluation, homogeneity, pH, and stability In Conclusion, Comparison of the concentration of tween 80 and span 80 emulgators that can produce emulgels of aquadest extract of ganitri leaves (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb.) is 7.098%: 2.902%. Recommendations, the next researcher is recommended to conduct irritation and toxicity tests, as well as antioxidant tests on emulgel preparations of aquadest extract of ganitri leaves (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb.)
