Abstract
Background: Stunting is mostly found in pre-school children aged 3-6 years. Central Java experienced poor nutrition by 3.7%. Nutritional effectiveness education therapy was used to overcome the problem of stunting in pre-school children. Efforts were made to reduce the prevalence of stunting in pre-school children by monitoring the growth of toddlers. Objective: Describe the developmental stage of nursing care of pre-school children with the ineffectiveness of health maintenance through educational therapy on the effectiveness of nutrition that should be given to pre-school children. Method: This study used a descriptive method, namely this cased studied that describes a nursing care problem with people with malnutrition in pre-school children at this time based on excited and real problems, resulted in a well-organized and completed picture with the subject of family coping disability and readiness to increase to parenthood. Result: After implementation for 5x meetings, there were changes from 3 client families. Children from 3 client families experience stunting because parents lack experience and knowledge of stunting. Stunting tends to occur because the index of weight and height is not as expected. Parenting and eating patterns from families with minimal knowledge of stunting cause problems to occur. Counseling can improve children's knowledge and development. Family coping disabilities can be stopped with family trust through family and environmental support. Changes in children's weight and appetite increase with good parenting monitoring through creative menus. Recommendation: Nutritional effectiveness educational therapy can be used to prevent and reduce stunting in children.
