Abstract
Background : Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a complex condition or syndrome characterized by persistent respiratory symptoms and restricted airflow due to abnormalities in the airways and/or alveoli. Daily health motivation aims to provide COPD patients with the knowledge and skills they require to manage their disease and make lifestyle changes that will improve their quality of life. Objective : To determine the effect of daily health motivation on improving the quality of life of COPD patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods : This study is a quantitative research using quasi-experiment design with pre and post-test control group design. The sample was 30 COPD patients outpatient care at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. The intervention is daily health motivation and data analysis using the t-test sample test. Results : The results of this study show that p value=0.000<0.05 that means daily health motivation affect the quality of life of COPD patients. Conclusion : There is an effect of daily health motivation on the quality of life of COPD patients. Recommendations : More research is required to involve a larger number of respondents.
