Abstract
Background, Diabetes is a chronic condition with increased blood sugar levels due to ineffective production or use of insulin. Type II diabetes accounts for 90-95% of all cases of diabetes worldwide. Type II diabetes can cause a variety of serious complications that can significantly decrease the quality of life of patients and can be affected by various factors. Objective, This study aims to determine the factors related to the quality of life in patients with type II diabetes melitus at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Research Methods, This study uses quantitative correlational methods and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 64 respondents with purposive sample techniques. Univariate and bivariate data analysis techniques through the chi-square test. Result, The results of the chi square test showed a relationship between long-suffering (0.015<0.05), complications (0.044<0,05), family support (0,003<0,05), and knowledge (0,000<05) with the quality of life of type II diabetes patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong. Conclusion, There is a relationship between long-suffering, complications, family support, and knowledge with the quality of life. Recommendation, It is expected for future researchers to consider other factors that may affect quality of life such as economic status, educational level, and social support.
