Abstract
Background: The quality of medical services and nursing care received by patients is an important aspect of hospital quality. However, patients often experience dissatisfaction due to unexpected and long waiting times in the IGD, which can result in patients leaving the hospital feeling dissatisfied. Patient boarding time in the IGD can have a significant impact on clinical outcomes, such as mortality. Objective: To analyze the relationship between boarding time and patient satisfaction in the IGD of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Gombong. Method: This study used an analytical description method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample taken was 95 IGD patients with the Purposive Sampling Technique. Bivariate analysis with Chi-Square.. Results: The waiting time to move (boarding time) in the Emergency Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Gombong that the majority is more than 2 hours with as many as 83 people (87.4%), and respondents who stated the waiting time to move (boarding time) in the Emergency Room <2 hours were 12 respondents (12.6%). Patient satisfaction in the Emergency Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Gombong that the majority of respondents were satisfied with the category of satisfied with the service in the Emergency Room as many as 56 people (58.9%). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the waiting time to move (boarding time) and patient satisfaction in the Emergency Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Gombong with a p value = 0.025. Recommendation: For the hospital to be able to improve the Emergency Room service by accelerating the waiting time for patient transfers.
