Abstract
Background: In 2022, around 10.48% of the total population in Indonesia is categorised as elderly. The existence of Posyandu Lansia is expected to improve the health of the elderly. Posyandu Elderly services are carried out by health workers assisted by health cadres. Posyandu cadres are individuals in the community who voluntarily organise posyandu activities have the necessary skills, and are willing to devote their time to the cause. Purpose: Knowing the role of cadres in the implementation of posyandu for the elderly in the Alian Health Centre Working Area Methods: This research is descriptive research. Sampling in accordance with the criteria set by the researcher as many as 40 respondents with total sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire. Data was analysed descriptively in the form of frequency distribution. Results: The results of this study showed that the average age of cadres was 36 - 45 years, female, IRT work, high school education, as many as 30 respondents (75%) had participated in cadre training, the length of service was mostly in the range of 1 - 10 years, the role of cadres as companions and directors in the implementation of posyandu elderly very good as many as 39 respondents (97. 5%), the role of cadres as community liaisons in providing health services is very good as many as 28 respondents (70%), the role of cadres as motivators in every elderly posyandu activity is very good as many as 27 respondents (67.5%), and the role of cadres in the continuity of elderly posyandu activities is very good as many as 36 respondents (90%). Conclusion: The role of cadres in the implementation of posyandu for the elderly in the Alian Health Centre Working Area with the Very Good category. Recommendation: Future researchers are expected to examine the factors that influence the performance of elderly posyandu cadres.
