Abstract
Background : Family is the closest person who cares for people with mental disorders at home. The risk of psychological disorders from families is influenced by patient relapse, economic conditions and rejection from society. This can affect the care and fulfillment of the needs of people with mental disorders in the Sempor 1 health center area. Objective : Knowing the level of stress and quality of life of families in caring for ODGJ in the Sempor 1 Health Center Area. Method : This study is a quantitative study using a descriptive design. Sampling using the total accidental sampling method of 104 respondents. The study used 2 types of questionnaires, namely the PSS (Perceived Stress Scale) andWHOQOL-BREF (The World Health Organization Quality Of Life) questionnaires. Results : Stress Level of respondents who care for ODGJ in Sempor 1 Health Center area mostly experienced moderate stress level as many as 60 respondents (57.7%). Quality of Life of respondents who care for ODGJ in Sempor 1 Health Center Area mostly experienced good quality of life as many as 70 respondents (67.3%). Conclusion : Families caring for ODGJ in the Sempor 1 Health Center Area experience moderate stress levels and good quality of life. Recomendation : The results of this study can be a basis for carrying out activities to reduce stress levels and improve the quality of life of families in caring for people with mental disorders in the Sempor 1 Community Health Center area.
