Abstract
Background: The prevalence of chronic kidney failure worldwide reaches more than 10% of the general population, with the number of sufferers reaching around 843.6 million people. Patients undergoing hemodialysis require long-term treatment, and dependence on dialysis machines can affect their mental health. Assessment of quality of life and factors that affect hemodialysis patients are important indicators in evaluating the success of hemodialysis therapy. Purpose: To analyze the factors that affect the quality of life of hemodialysis patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This study used an observational analysis method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample taken was 100 CKD people aged 35-75 years who underwent routine HD treatment with a purposive sampling technique. Bivariate analysis with Chi-Square. Results: The description of the quality of life of hemodialysis patients was mostly lacking, namely 51 people (51%). There was an influence of gender factors (p=0.005), depression factors (p=0.000), family support factors (p=0.009) and there is no influence of age factors (p=0.984), length of hemodialysis (p=0.906) with the quality of life of hemodialysis patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Conclusion: Factors that affect the quality of life of hemodialysis patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Gombong include gender, depression factors, and family support factors. Recommendation: The hospital is advised to increase education for families to increase their role so as to minimize depression in HD patients so that the quality of life of hemodialysis patients is more optimal.
