Abstract
Background: Elderly (lansia) are individuals aged 60 years and older. In the year 2022, Kebumen Regency reported approximately 413,662 elderly individuals in the region, distributed across various districts. In Indonesia, the prevalence of fall-related injuries among individuals over 55 years old is 49.4%, increasing to 67.1% for those aged over 65 years. Objective: To describe nursing care for fall risk in elderly using the Otago Exercise therapy to reduce fall risk. Methods: This scientific paper used a descriptive approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through interviews and observations with three Fall Risk clients. The case study subjects are three elderly individuals aged 60-74 who are at risk of falling. Results: Based on the assessment results of the three elderly subjects, the nursing problem identified was fall risk. Interventions and implementations involved Otago Exercise therapy conducted for 3 weeks, with a frequency of 6 sessions. Each week included 2 sessions lasting 30 minutes each. Evaluation after 6 sessions of Otago Exercise therapy with the three elderly individuals showed significant effectiveness in reducing fall risk and improving muscle strength. Recommendation: Otago Exercise therapy is an effective method for reducing fall risk in the elderly.
