Abstract
Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a rapidly growing health problem. In the final stages of chronic kidney failure, the kidneys can no longer function optimally, necessitating hemodialysis therapy to replace kidney function. However, hemodialysis therapy can negatively impact the sleep quality of CKD patients. This issue of sleep disorders can be addressed using S.E.F.T. (Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique) therapy, a light tapping technique that can help treat sleep disorders. Objective: To examine the effect of S.E.F.T. therapy on the sleep quality of hemodialysis patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This quantitative study uses a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The sample consisted of 40 respondents suffering from chronic kidney failure who were undergoing hemodialysis therapy at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. The Wilcoxon test was used for statistical analysis. Results: The study, which included 40 respondents, showed a significant difference in sleep quality before and after S.E.F.T. therapy, indicated by a p-value of 0.000, where p < 0.05. Conclusion: S.E.F.T. therapy positively affects the sleep quality of Chronic Kidney Disease patients. Recommendation: Future research should examine environmental factors influencing patient sleep quality.
