Abstract
Background: Breast cancer in Indonesia ranks first. Breast cancer patients generally feel complaints of nausea and vomiting. Nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy can be treated with non-pharmacological treatment, one of which is aromatherapy. Aromatherapy has psychological effects and at the cellular level can bring about relaxation effects. With aromatherapy, lemon has useful ingredients to overcome nausea and vomiting, so this therapy can be one of the ways to overcome nausea and vomiting complaints after chemotherapy. Objective: To determine the effect of Lemon Aromatherapy on Nausea and Vomiting of Breast Cancer Patients With Chemotherapy at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong. Method: This study is a quantitative research with Quasi Experiment method (one group pretest-posttest design). The sampling technique in this study was Purposive Sampling Technique. With a sample of 30 respondents. Results: The results of the paired t test showed a p value of .000 < 0.05 so that what was the change in complaints of nausea and vomiting in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy after the administration of lemon aromatherapy. Conclusion: The use of lemon aromatherapy is effective in reducing nausea and vomiting after chemotherapy. Suggestion: The administration and use of lemon aromatherapy can be tested on more respondents in the category of nausea and vomiting of breast cancer patients with chemotherapy to determine the effect of non-pharmacological therapy of lemon aromatherapy.
