Abstract
Background: BPH cases in Central Java have the highest prevalence, namely 4,794 cases. BPH cases at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital from August-November 2023 reached 107 new cases, of which TURP was carried out in 79 cases. The family as a caregiver is expected to play a role for the patient in supporting the patient's physical condition and post-operative recovery. Objective: To describe the description of family knowledge in preventing the risk of bleeding in post-TURP patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This research is quantitative descriptive research. The sample taken by nurses was 72 people using total sampling technique. Data analysis used univariate analysis. Results: Characteristics of the majority of respondents aged 36-45 years were 28 respondents (38.9%) with a high school education level of 35 respondents (48.6%). The level of knowledge regarding preventing the risk of bleeding in post-TURP patients was mostly sufficient, as many as 40 people (55.6%). Conclusion: The level of knowledge regarding preventing the risk of bleeding in post-TURP patients is mostly sufficient, 40 people (55.6%). Recommendation: For nurses to increase education to patient families in preventing the risk of bleeding in Post TURP patients during home care.
