Abstract

Background: The risk of falling is a condition in which an individual has the potential to experience an increased likelihood of falling, which can result in physical injury and occurs due to disturbances in body balance. Objective: Providing an overview of nursing care for the elderly with a risk of falling care problem in Jatimulyo Village, Petanahan Sub-district, to reduce the intensity of falling risk among the elderly Method: This scientific paper was a descriptive-analytical study with a case study approach. The respondents were elderly individuals identified with a high risk of falling through observation. Data were obtained through interviews, assessments, and observations. Results: After implementing balance exercise therapy for 6 sessions, there was a decrease in the number of falls among the three respondents, as observed from the screening results of the Time Up and Go (TUG) Test for fall risk, with results ≤10 seconds indicating a low risk of falling. Recommendation: Balance exercise therapy can be applied as a non-pharmacological therapy for the elderly at risk of falling or those with balance disorders
