Abstract
Background: Low awareness of balanced nutrition is one of the factors causing the high problem of nutritional status in Indonesia in toddlers. Mothers find it difficult to plan healthy meals for their children as a result of lack of knowledge. Toddlers' eating habits, which include portion sizes, types of foods, and frequency are influenced by mothers' behavior or attitudes in choosing food for their children. Objective: To describe the level of knowledge and understanding of mothers after health education. Writing method: This scientific paper is carried out using the description method. With the step of data collection, namely using interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The study was conducted for 5x meetings to mothers who had children under five who were malnourished. The instruments used are print media and questionnaire sheets to treat malnutrition. Results: The results of the evaluation after the health education intervention was carried out showed an increase in the level of knowledge of mothers. Conclusion: The level of knowledge of mothers about child nutrition is very important because it will affect the child's growth and development. The provision of health education has been able to increase the knowledge of mothers.
