Abstract
Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease that is a global and significant problem in Indonesia, including at RSUD dr. Soedirman Kebumen. TB treatment takes a long time and often causes side effects, making it difficult for many patients to complete treatment. TB patients need adequate processing conditions and time to overcome the side effects and psychological and social challenges that arise during treatment. Family support, effective coping strategies, and adaptability are essential in this process. Preliminary research at RSUD dr. Soedirman Kebumen showed that TB patients experience significant emotional distress, social stigma, and drug side effects. Therefore, this research is important to understand the adaptation process of TB patients in order to increase treatment adherence and reduce the negative effects of the disease.
