Abstract
Background : Severe mental illness is a condition where there is a disturbance in the functioning of the mind. This disorder can manifest in the form of disorganization or chaos in the content of one's thoughts. Symptoms include impaired understanding, such as delusions or delusions, and impaired perception.. Objective : To describe family experiences in caring for patients with severe mental disorders in the working area of the pejagoan health center. Methods : This research is a type of descriptive research with a cross sectional design. A sample of 90 people taken using the Lameshow formula with a questionnaire instrument then the results will be processed with SPSS and then analyzed descriptively and presented in tabular form. Results : The results of the study showed that most of the respondents had enough attitude and knowledge aspects as many as 60 people (60%). The skill aspect was dominated by the good category with a frequency of 50 people (50%). The category of experience and readiness aspects was dominated by the sufficient category with a frequency of 39 people (39%). Most of them are female, namely 55 people (55%). Most of the respondents had a long history of caring for 4-6 years, as many as 33 people (33%). Conclusion : Family experience in caring for patients with severe mental disorders at the Pejagoan Health Center dominates: sufficient attitude and knowledge as much as 60%, good skills as much as 50%, sufficient experience as much as 39%.. Recommendation : Recommendations for further research to be able to deepen the material and add accurate data from trusted sources, as well as deepen the media that will be made.
