Abstract
Background : Elderly people are individuals aged over 60 years. Around 85.71% of elderly people in the Kedungpuji Village Posyandu carry out activities with minimal assistance, resulting in several falls and the environment has minimal lighting and slippery floors. Objective: To determine the relationship between home environmental conditions and the risk of falls for elderly people at the Posyandu for the Elderly in Kedungpuji Village . Method: This research uses a descriptive correlational research method with a cross-sectional approach . The sampling technique used was porpusive sampling with a total of 79 respondents. The measurement of home environmental conditions uses an observation sheet instrument, while the risk of falling uses a TUGT (timed up and go test) measurement instrument Data analysis uses the Chi-square test. Research Results: It was found that there was a relationship between the condition of the home environment and the risk of falls for the elderly at the Posyandu for the Elderly in Kedungpuji Village with p -value = 0.033. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the condition of the home environment and the risk of falls in the elderly at the Posyandu for the Elderly in Kedungpuji Village . Recommendation: Further research is needed to determine other risk factors that cause the risk of falls in the elderly.
