Abstract

Background : Diabetes mellitus or diabetes is a chronic non-communicable disease that is a general health problem in society. This disease is a diseases that cannot be cured but can be controlled. Purpose : To get an overview Self Management in Diabetes Mellitus Patients in the Working Area of Sempor District Health Center. Methods : This research is a quantitative research using a descriptive design. Sampling was taken according to the sample criteria set by the researcher of 100 people using a total sampling technique. Results : The results of this study show that the average age of 46-65 years is 74 respondents (74%), 82 respondents (82%) are female, 67 respondents (67%), have elementary school education, 60 respondents (60%) were housewives, 75 respondents (75%) had suffered from DM for 1-5 years, 51 respondents (51%) had stable blood sugar levels, and 98 respondents (98%) had good self-management. Conclusion : Self management of patients with diabetes mellitus in the good category. Recommendation : Future researchers are expected to conduct further research related to the relationship between blood sugar levels and diet in patients with diabetes mellitus.
