Abstract
Background : Fracture is termed a partial or total loss of bone, cartilage or both. The dominating cause of fractures is excessive and sudden force, which includes crushing, beating, twisting, bending, and pulling. A person who has a fracture will undergo an ORIF surgical procedure, the problem that occurs after that is the pain that is disturbing. Giving analgesics is pharmacological management so that pain can be reduced. In addition, nonpharmacological management that can be done is the provision of Lavender Aromatherapy. Purpose : To describe nursing care with acute pain of post ORIF fracture patients using Lavender Aromatherapy at Multazam Ward of Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method : This scientific paper used a quantitative descriptive approach with a case study method. Data obtained through interviews and observations with the subjects of three acute pain patients post ORIF. Result : After administered Lavender Aromatherapy once a day for 3 days the pain intensity of the three patients decreased. Conclusion : Lavender aromatherapy is effective in reducing pain intensity in post ORIF patients. Recommendation : To reduce pain intensity Post ORIF patients are advised to apply Lavender Aromatherapy.
