Abstract
Background: Gastritis is inflammation of the stomach lining caused by irritation or infection. Gastritis is a common case of teenagers. This disease attacks many school children due to various factors, including irregular eating patterns, poor lifestyle, and increased activity (schoolwork) to forgetting to eat. Symptoms experienced by gastritis sufferers include stomach discomfort, bloating, headaches, nausea, and a coating on the tongue. Objective: To find out correlation between dietary pattern and gastritis incidence of adolescents at SMK YPE Sumpiuh. Methods: Quantitative methods of descriptive correlation with cross sectional approaches. The sampling technique used stratified random samplings and obtained a sample of 75 respondents. Results: 44 (58.7%) respondents had a poor diet, 42 (56.0%) had an incidence of gastritis. Results of Spearman rank analysis obtained a significance p value of 0.040 showing correlation between dietary pattern and gastritis incidence of adolescents at SMK YPE Sumpiuh. Recommendation: For future researchers to carry out research related to the factors that influence the gastritis incidence of adolescents.
