Abstract

Background: The duration of treatment for hypertensive patients depends on various risk factors that affect their condition, such as demographic factors, laboratory data, clinical data, and medication therapy. Understanding and predicting risk factors can minimize the length of treatment, thereby reducing hospital cost. Research Objective: This study aims to predict the risk factors that influence the length of treatment for hypertensive patients at Dr. Soedirman Regional Hospital in Kebumen. Method: Descriptive method, data collection through retrospective analysis. The population of all medical records of hospitalized hypertension patients from January to December 2023 who met the inclusion criteria. Research Results: The majority of patients were female (66.7%) with a p-value of 0,620, OR=1,289 (0,471-3,532). The longest length of stay (LOS) was for patients over 65 years old (7,9%) with a p-value of 0,028, OR=2,790(1,086-7,168). Comorbidity (p=0,741, OR=0,929(0,318-2,716)), medication therapy (p=0,82, OR=0,878(0,298-2,585)), GDS (p=0,533, OR=0,511(0,11-2,290)), urea (p=0,036, OR=4,605(1,221-17,374)), creatinine (p=0,152, OR=1,946(0.774-4.890)), triglycerides (p=0,552, OR=0,706(0,233-2,235)), LDL (p=0.540, OR=1,332(0,531-3,340)), total cholesterol (p=0,833, OR=1,16(0,404- 3.084)), SGOT (p=0,323, OR=1,938(0,639-5.877)), SGPT (p=0,104, OR=2,846(0,814- 9.937)), hemoglobin (p=0,037, OR=2,721(1,036-7,147)), blood pressure (p=0,392, OR=0,496(0,126-1,949)) Conclusion: The risk factors associated with and affecting the length of hospital stay are age, hemoglobin, and urea. Recommendation: Collect broader and more varied data and conduct a more in-depth analysis of risk factors.
