Abstract
Background: Chronic renal failure is a progressive and irreversible disorder of kidney function. This kidney function disorder occurs when the body fails to maintain metabolism and fluid and electrolyte balance, resulting in retention of urea and other nitrogenous waste in the blood (Adhiatma et al., 2017) Research Objectives: This research aims to find out the impact elements that influence the length of stay for Chronic Kidney Failure sufferers at Prembun Regional Hospital, Kebumen Regency for the period 2023. Research Method: This research will be conducted retrospectively. To analyze the data in this study, we used a bivariate test using a correlative descriptive method using chi-square, then looked at the relationship between the patient's length of stay and the dependent variables that had been determined, namely patient demographics such as the patient's age and gender, then the patient's laboratory data, chronic diseases and comorbidities. the chronic kidney failure medication the patient is taking, the type of treatment the patient is taking and to see the Odds Ratio (OR) value. Research Results: From the results of this study, the age parameter in Chronic Kidney Failure patients, namely age over 65 years, increases the risk of prolonged hospitalization but is not significant OR = 1.570 (0.518-4.756); p = 0.301. The gender parameter (female) in Chronic Kidney Failure patients is at risk of reducing length of stay but is not significant with OR = 0.787 (0.331-1.870); p = 0.372 Conclusion: Data on chronic kidney failure patients is based on the length of time the patient was hospitalized in hospital statistics, called Length of Stay (LOS). The length of treatment for chronic kidney failure patients is in the range of 2-7 days with a total of 100 patients. The length of patient care is adjusted to the patient's condition, the shortest length of patient care is 1 day. In this short time, patients are usually in a condition where they do not require much action, only hemodialysis. The longest length of treatment is 15 days, this is because the patient's condition requires many actions and several other things that make it impossible for him to be sent home. Reccomendation: Further research needs to be carried out regarding the risk factors for chronic kidney failure patients and the length of hospital stay
