Abstract
Background: The prevalence of anxiety levels in mothers before Sectio Caesareasurgery is quite high. Music therapy was able to reduce the level of anxiety in preoperative patients. The results showed that before being given music therapy, 60% experienced severe anxiety to moderate anxiety (45%). The butterfly hug method is also a way to reduce anxiety levels by providing calm and relieving a person's stress. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of music therapy and butterfly hugs on the anxiety level of pre-operative Sectio Caesarea patients at RSU Wijayakusuma Kebumen. Methods: This research used a quasi-experiment, with a one group pre test – posttest design approach. The sample from this study was 60 patients taken using non-probability sampling with purposive sampling type. Respondents were given music therapy and butterfly hugs for 30 minutes with a duration of 2 times. The instrument used was the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Paired T test. Results: The results of the pre-test and post-test anxiety levels of 60 respondents decreased, namely severe anxiety decreased from 34 patients (56.7%) to moderateanxiety in 38 patients (63.3%). The results of analysis of anxiety data show that there is effectiveness of music therapy and butterfly hugs with the level of anxiety after being given music therapy and butterfly hugs with significant results of 0.000(p=<0.005) which means there is effectiveness. Conclusion: There is effectiveness on the level of anxiety with music therapy andbutterfly hugs on the level of anxiety of mothers before Sectio Caesarea surgery at RSU Wijayakusuma Kebumen. Recommendations: Music therapy and butterfly hugs can be recommended as complementary therapies to overcome anxiety in pre-operative Sectio Caesarea patients.
