Abstract
Background: Medicine is a pharmaceutical product that is used for diagnosis, prevention, treatment of disease, health restoration and health improvement. The use of appropriate and appropriate medication is said to be effective in treating a disease. Public understanding of drug use is very important, because drugs are the main component in the health system. The problem of lack of knowledge about the use of a drug which can become a problem related to drug side effects, irrational use of drugs and counterfeit drugs can trigger public health problems regarding drug use, this is still frequently encountered in the community. Limited access to pharmacies in Madureso Village can hinder use of drugs according to guidelines. Research Objective: This research aims to determine the level of knowledge and the relationship between the characteristics of respondents and the level of community knowledge about DAGUSIBU (Get, Use, Save, Dispose) of drugs in Madureso Village, Kuwarasan District. Research Method: The research method used in this research is descriptive correlative with a cross sectional approach using a questionnaire with a sample of 100 respondents. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate tests. Research Results: The level of community knowledge in Madureso village is 82 respondents (82%) have a high level of knowledge, and 18 respondents (18%) have sufficient knowledge. The chi-square test results that influence the relationship between DAGUSIBU's level of knowledge are age with a p value (0.029) and with work obtained a p value (0.041). Conclusion: In Madureso Village, the Madureso village community has high knowledge about DAGUSIBU (Get, Use, Save, Dispose of) medicines; there is a relationship between age and occupation with the level of knowledge of DAGUSIBU. Recommendation: Further research can develop by conducting research on the level of knowledge of DAGUIBU drugs through educational interventions by distributing brochures or leaflets.
