Abstract
Background: The high prevalence of hypertension is a serious problem as it increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and other complications. In Indonesia, hypertension affects approximately 69.6 million adults. Pain management for hypertension often relies solely on medication, while non-pharmacological alternatives like back massage and Murottal Al-Qur'an have not been widely explored. Objective: This study aims to analyze nursing care for hypertensive patients with acute pain using an innovative intervention combining back massage and Murottal Al-Qur'an at RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen. Method: This research uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The subjects were 5 hypertensive patients with acute pain. The instruments used include nursing care formats, a Nursing Kit, and SOPs for the innovative combination of back massage and Murottal Al-Qur'an. Data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively, presented in tables and narratives. Results: The assessment of hypertensive patients revealed that the main complaint was acute pain in the head with a pain scale of 4-5. The prioritized nursing diagnosis was acute pain related to physiological injury agents. Interventions included pain scale assessment, vital signs measurement, and the application of back massage combined with Murottal Al-Qur'an. Implementation was carried out as planned, and the evaluation showed a 2-3 point reduction in pain scale following the intervention. The innovative combination of back massage and Murottal Al-Qur'an proved effective in reducing pain in hypertensive patients. Conclusion: The application of back massage combined with Murottal Al-Qur'an has been proven effective in reducing acute pain in hypertensive patients. This intervention can be a beneficial alternative in pain management for hypertensive patients, alongside conventional medications. Recommendation: It is recommended to integrate the combination of back massage and Murottal Al-Qur'an into nursing practice as a complementary therapy for hypertensive patients. Further training for healthcare professionals on the implementation of this intervention is also necessary to enhance the effectiveness of nursing care.
