Abstract

Background: Caring is a formof nurse's concern for clients as a formof attention, appreciation and being able to meet their needs. A nurse must have awareness of nursing care, in providing assistance to clients in achieving or maintaining health or achieving a peaceful death Objective: To identify the caring behavior of elderly nurses from Indonesia and Japan. Method: This research uses a cross sectional method using quantitative analysis. The sample in this research is 46 elderly nurse taken by accidental sampling . The instrument or measuring tool used in this research is a questionnaire. Results : Caring behavior of Indonesian nurses towards elderly patients in Japan was generally in the good category, namely 14 respondents (61%).With an average value of 3.63. Meanwhile, the Caring Behavior of Japanese Nurses for elderly patients in Japan is generally in the very good category with 8 respondents (35%) and good with 12 respondents (52%) with an average value of 4.23. and there are differences in the caring behavior of elderly nurses from Indonesia and elderly nurses from Japan. This can be proven by the significance value of the Man Whitney test of 0.000 or less than 0.05. Conclusion: Elderly nurses from Indonesia and Japan are classified as good regarding their caring behavior towards elderly patients Recommendation : It is hoped that future researchers will carry out further development of knowledge regarding how nurses work, skills and knowledge from several countries so that they can add information about nursing science in other countries.
