Abstract

Background: The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Kebumen district has reached 68.3% of the target (80%). One of the factors why a mother can not give exclusive breastfeeding to her baby is the non-fluid breastfeeding. This noncurrent breastfeeding expenditure can be stimulated by the administration of a marmet technique and oxytocin massage using lavender oil. Marmet technique and oxytocin massage using lavender oil is a technique to flow the milk out and to make mother becomes more relaxed. This is done by massaging the mother’s back with lavender oil and massaging the breast and milking the milk. Objective: Providing midwifery care for postpartum mother by applying marmet technique and oxytocin massage using lavender oil to increase breast-milk production. Method: This study is analytical descriptive with case study approach (Case Study). The technique used in determining the participants is purposive sampling based on the criteria of 5 participants. The study was conducted on April 12 - May 6, 2017. The data was obtained from the primary data through the observation sheet. Result: Before having marmet technique and oxytocin massage using lavender oil, the weight of 4 new born babies (80%) is > 3000 gram. Urination and breastfeeding frequency of all participants (100%) is only once. The sleeping duration of all participants (100%) is leass than an hour. After having the massage of 5 participants on day 14, there were 4 participants (80%) babies having weight > 3000 gram, all participants (100%) having urination frequency > 6 times daily, breastfeeding frequency is > 8 times a day, and 3 participants (60%) were sleeping for 2 hours. Conclusion: The marmet technique and the oxytocin massage using lavender oil can increase the breast-milk production of postpartum mother.
