Abstract
Background: Hypertension occurs when systolic blood pressure rises above 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure above 90 mmHg. Symptoms experienced by hypertension are, dizziness, pain, difficulty sleeping, getting tired easily, feeling heavy in the head, and heaviness in the neck. One of the non-pharmacological treatments to lower blood pressure is to do therapy for giving young coconut water Objective: To describe nursing care in hypertensive elderly in meeting the needs of acute pain and comfort. Methods: The scientific paper was descriptive with a case study approach. Data were obtained from studies, interviews, and observations with three respondents who had suffered from hypertension. Results: After the application of young coconut water therapy for 3 consecutive days, the blood pressure of the three clients had decreased, with an average decrease in systolic pressure of 0-6 mmHg and diastolic pressure of 0-4 mmHg. Recommendation: Hypertensive patients can be treated with young coconut water therapy as a non-pharmacological therapy to lower blood pressure.
