Abstract
Background: Intestinal infection caused by bacteria that can lead to systemic symptoms. This disease usually affects the digestive tract and is characterized by the onset of typhoid fever. Red onion compresses are a therapy with anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce body temperature in children with typhoid fever Objective: Understanding the analysis of nursing care for the administration of red onion compress therapy in febrile children at RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo. Method: This study utilizes a quantitative design with a case study approach. The focus is on nursing issues related to hyperthermia and the use of red onion compresses. The respondents in this study were 5 children aged 1-5 years. Temperature measurements were recorded before and after the application of the red onion compresses Results: The results of the intervention for children with typhoid fever and a nursing diagnosis of hyperthermia, using red onion compresses, were observed over a period of 3 days (3x24 hours). The findings showed that all respondents experienced a reduction in body temperature, with an average decrease of 1.54°C. Conclusion: The red onion compress therapy has been shown to reduce body temperature in children with hyperthermia
