Abstract

in Indonesia will easily find work. It cannot be denied that the current era of globalization has caused increasingly fierce competition throughout the world, including in the nursing field. The increasing desire of nurses to work abroad is caused by the gap between the number of nurses graduating and limited job opportunities in Indonesia. For several reasons, nurses are more attracted to working abroad, such as salary, promising career, and interest in foreign culture. Objective: To determine the difference in interest between Indonesian and Vietnamese care givers in Japanese Nursing Homes through the EPA (Economic Partnership Agreement) Program. Method: This research uses a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach. Research Results: Regarding the purpose of nurses working in Japan, there are differences in the interests of Indonesian and Vietnamese Care Givers in Japanese Nursing Homes through the EPA (Economic Partnership Agreement) Program. Based on Indonesian care giver data, care giving is a fairly prestigious job. A large salary is an attraction and also access to hone knowledge and skills is facilitated by the Japanese government. Meanwhile, according to the Vietnamese care giver, this is because the salary is large and there is no need to take other exams, you only need to extend the contract. Conclusion: The difference in interest between Indonesian and Vietnamese care givers is in their goals. Based on Indonesian care giver data, care giving is a fairly prestigious job. Recommendation: Nurses need to increase their interest in working abroad to increase access to hone their knowledge and skills. Future researchers are expected to be able to explore interests in more depth based on internal and external factors.
