Abstract
Background: Hypertension occurs when systolic blood pressure exceeds 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure exceeds 90 mmHg. Symptoms of high blood pressure are often not visible, but complications can occur if high blood pressure persists. Objective: This study aims to identify the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes in preventing hypertension complications in Karangsari Village. Method: Correlative analytical research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample used was 35 respondents selected using the total population technique. Data collection used a questionnaire, data analysis used Spearman's Rho Correlation. Results: Research results obtained a significant value (p=0.00 <0.05) which means there is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes in preventing hypertension complications, and the correlation coefficient value (p=0.612) can be categorized as strong. Conclusion: The level of knowledge and attitude have a significant relationship in preventing hypertension complications in posbindu Karangsari Village Recommendation: For the public to increase knowledge about hypertension and attitudes towards controlling blood pressure, the better the knowledge and the better the attitude in preventing hypertension complications, the lower the incidence of hypertension complications.
