Abstract
Background: The Coping mechanism is a way for individuals to solve a problem or to cope with changes that occur both mentally and behaviorally. It can be a way of solving a problem in the review of the Problem Focused Coping and controlling the Emotional Focused coping. Objective: To identify the mechanisms of family coping care for mental disorders patients in the work area of sruweng health center. Method: This type of research was quantitative with a descriptive analytical approach. A sample of 142 respondents, determined by using proportional random sampling. Research instruments used the questioner the way of coping. The data in the analysis was using by the frequency distribution. Result: Based on the results of family coping mechanisms in caring for people with mental disorders, 142 respondents found that the majority of respondents focused on emotional focused coping, 102 (71.8%) respondents and problem focused coping, 40 (28.2%) respondents with the highest score on emotional focused coping. 38, 42, 43 and problem focused coping is Conclusion: The results of this study show that the majority of respondents use a coping mechanism that focuses on Emotional Focused Coping.. Recommendation: Can develop research related to family health interventions such as in family gathering for families in the care of people with mental disorders.
