Abstract
Background : Stunting is an acute nutritional problem where a child's height does not match his age. Stunting is caused by various factors. The incidence of stunting in Central Java Province is still quite high, especially in Kebumen Regency, namely at the Puskesmas Kebumen III. Research purposes : To find out what factors are related to the incidence of stunting among toddlers in the Puskesmas Kebumen III. Methods : This research is an observational quantitative research using a cross sectional research design. Population of toddlers aged 0-23 months. The sampling method uses retrospective sampling. The research instrument uses a questionnaire and the ePPGBM application. Using the chi square statistical test with α=0.05. Result : The results showed that there was a significant relationship between history of infection in children, exclusive breastfeeding and mother's educational status with the incidence of stunting in the Kebumen III Community Health Center working area with the results of the chi-square test analysis. History of infection p=0.002, exclusive breastfeeding p=0.001 and mother's educational status p= 0.002. Conclusion : Factors that influence the incidence of stunting in the Kebumen III Community Health Center work area are a history of infection in children, a history of exclusive breastfeeding and the mother's educational status. Recommendations : Other factors of infection in children besides coughs, colds and diarrhea need to be further researched which can influence stunting in toddlers 6-23 months.
