Abstract
Background: Based on the 2020 Maternal and Child Health Profile, it is stated that 32 out of 100 children in Indonesia experienced health complaints and 1 in 5 young children experienced illness in the last month. Based on the 2020 Maternal and Child Health Profile, it is stated that 32 out of 100 children in Indonesia experienced health complaints and 1 in 5 young children experienced illness in the last month. The success of installing an IV in a child or toddler is also supported by the nurse's skills. Nurses' skills in administering infusions can be influenced by several factors such as patient characteristics, level of experience and level of nurse competency. Objective: to identify factors related to the success of infusion installation in toddlers in the Ward of Prembun Regional Hospital Method: This research method used is analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach. The sample taken was 45 nurses taken using total sampling technique. Bivariate analysis with Chi-Square. Results: The success rate of nurses in installing IV fluids in toddlers was (91.1%). There is no relationship between the gender of the nurse and the success of infusion installation in toddlers. There is no relationship between the nurse's age factor and the success of infusion installation in toddlers. There is no relationship between nurse education and the success of infusion installation in toddlers. There is a relationship between the length of work of nurses and the success of installing IV drips in toddlers at Prembun Regional Hospital. There is a relationship between SOP compliance and the success of infusion installation in toddlers at Prembun Regional Hospital. There is a relationship between the use of the Vein Finder and the success of infusion installation. Conclusion: Factors related to the success of infusion installation in toddlers in the Ward of Prembun Regional Hospital include: education, knowledge, length of work, SOP compliance, and use of Vein fenders. Recommendation: For further researchers, develop the dominant related factors such as therapeutic communication factors and behavior that influence the success of IV installation in toddlers.
