Abstract

Background: WHO said that every year around 65 to 200 people are diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Patients who underwent hemodialysis for more than 1 year experienced psychological changes such as anxiety, depression, and stress. Which causes hemodialysis patients to become non-compliant with the liquid diet. Objective: This study is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used a total sampling of 158 respondents with inclusion criteria: male and female patients, patients aged <60 years, patients who can write and memorize, patients who are willing to become reboilers, and patients who are present at the time of the study. Data were collected using the State Traith Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), and End Stage Renal Disease Adherence Questionnaire (ESRD-AQ) questionnaires. The data was analyzed by the spearman rho rest. Results: 102 respondents (64.6%) experienced moderate anxiety, 72 people (45.7%) experienced mild depression, 119 people (75.3%) had moderate stress, and 89 people (56.3%) had a level of compliance in the moderately compliant category. The results of the spearman rho test showed a significant relationship between anxiety (p value 0.279), depression (p value 0.502), stress (p value 0.330) and the level of compliance of chronic kidney failure patients at Dr. Soedirman Hospital. Recommendation: For Dr. Soedirman Kebumen Hospital, policies/programs that reduce psychological disorders experienced by HD patients with non-compliance with the liquid diet.
