Abstract
Background: The increase in the prevalence of diabetes incidence has an impact on the treatment pattern. The goal of treatment in diabetic patients is to prevent complications and improve treatment success. Treatment success includes not only the right dose but also adherence to treatment. Purpose: To determine the intrinsic and extrinsic factors related to the behavior of adherence to taking oral anti-diabetic drugs in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Sruweng Health Care Center. Methods: This study uses a cross-sectional approach design with quantitative research. The population of people with type-2 diabetes mellitus in January-November 2023 was 463 and the sample in this study was 40 respondents, the sampling technique used the purposive sampling technique. Results: The results of the Rank Spearmank test found that factors related to compliance behavior with oral diabetes mellitus medication included motivation (p=0.017 < 0.05), attitude (p=0.008 < 0.05), level of knowledge (p=0.035<0.05), and family support (p=0.018 < 0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between motivation, attitude, level of knowledge, and family support, and compliance behavior in taking oral anti-diabetic drugs in patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus at the Sruweng Health Center. Recommendation: For the next researcher, it is hoped that other compliance variables can be added because this study only uses 4 independent variables.
