Abstract
Background: Data related to patient safety in Indonesia shows that DKI Jakarta province has the highest rate, namely around 37.9%, while Central Java Province is in second place with a rate of around 15.9%. The highest incidence rate was recorded in the internal medicine, surgical and pediatric care departments, reaching 56.7%. The results of a preliminary study at RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen reported that the total number of surgical patients in January-February 2023 was 670 cases. This is often not done during the sign in phase of location marking, sometimes the sign out form is incomplete. Objective: To analyze factors related to the level of compliance of nurses in the Central Surgery Installation with the Surgical Safety Checklist at RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen. Method: This research is quantitative descriptive research. The sample taken by nurses was 26 people using total sampling technique. Data analysis used univariate analysis. Results: The majority of nurses complied with the implementation of the Surgical Safety Checklist, as many as 20 people (76.9%). There is no relationship between age (p = 0.244) and length of service (p = 0.292) on compliance with the implementation of the Surgical Safety Checklist. There is a relationship between education and motivation on compliance in implementing the Surgical Safety Checklist (p=0.000). Conclusion: There is a relationship between education and motivation on compliance in implementing the Surgical Safety Checklist at RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen. Recommendation: For nurses to increase compliance in implementing and filling out the SSC according to the SOP by paying more attention to education and motivation level factors.
