Abstract
Background: Treatment in the ICU causes anxiety for the patient's family. Anxiety is influenced by several factors, namely age, gender, education, patient status, therapeutic communication, length of care, health services. Objective: To find out the factors related to the level of anxiety of the patient's family who were treated in the ICU room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: Using descriptive correlation with a cross sectional approach. The population is 104 people. The sample used was 51 people. Results: Age was related to anxiety P value = 0.000). Sex is related to anxiety (P value = 0.027). Education is related to anxiety (p value = 0.031). Family relationship status is related to anxiety (p value = 0.013). Therapeutic communication is related to anxiety (P value = 0.028). The length of treatment was related to anxiety (P value = 0.008). Health services are related to anxiety (P value = 0.017). Conclusion: There is a relationship with the level of family anxiety of patients treated in the ICU room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital, including age, gender, education, family relationship status, therapeutic communication, length of treatment and service. Recommendation: It can improve services, especially communication between nurses and families of patients in the ICU of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital.
