Abstract
Background: Quality of life can be assessed using the patient's functional status and subjective statements about their condition. The quality of life for COPD patients is really bad. As a result, there will be something to do to improve the quality of life for COPD sufferers. Family support is one of several elements that influence COPD patients' quality of life. Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between family support and the quality of life of COPD patients at RSUD Hj Anna Lasmanah Banjarnegara. Method: This study used a cross-sectional method. This study was conducted at RSUD Hj Anna Lasmanah Banjarnegara with a total sample population of 100 participants. The instruments used include the Perceived Social Support from Family (PSS-Fa) and the St. George's Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ). Result: The research was conducted from March to May 2024. The result shows that there are 77 respondents who received good family support and 61 respondents who has good quality of life. By using Spearman Rank test, the values obtained are r=0,664 and p=0,000 with significance level of α=0,05. Conclusion: Based on these results, there is a correlation between family support and the quality of life of COPD patients at RSUD Hj Anna Lasmanah Banjarnegara. Recommendation: The researcher hopes that this study will result in improved family support for COPD patients, for achieving a good quality of life.
