Abstract
Background: Abdominal colic is pain in the stomach that comes and goes and originates from the organs in the abdomen. Abdominal colic pain can cause discomfort. So it is necessary to provide therapy to reduce pain, one of which is non-pharmacological therapy in the form of warm compresses. Objective: To conduct an analysis of nursing care for acute pain in clients with abdominal colic using warm compress therapy in the Emergency Room at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital Method: This research used a descriptive method with a case study approach. The research subjects were 5 patients with abdominal colic in the emergency department of the PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. The intervention given was warm compress therapy. Data collection was carried out using the nursing care format, Nursing Kit, and innovative SOP for warm compress therapy. Results: From the results of the study, data analysis, intervention and implementation of the five patients with abdominal pain, there was a decrease in the pain scale after warm compress therapy was carried out. Conclusion: Warm compress therapy can be an alternative non-pharmacological treatment to reduce abdominal colic pain in patients in the emergency department Recommendation: It is recommended to create a standard SOP for innovative therapeutic procedures warm compress to facilitate the implementation of actions in the field.
