Abstract
Background : Post laparotomy is a service provided to patients who have undergone abdominal surgery. The World Health Organization (WHO) said that post-laparotomy patients in the world increase every year by 10%. Post laparotomy patients will experience pain due to the incision or incision at the surgical site. This is what makes Mozart's music therapy effective in reducing pain because classical music has an effective effect on pain intensity.From the results of the analysis carried out at Margono Soekarjo Hospital, Purwokerto, it was found that non- pharmacological nursing actions were rarely carried out on Post Laparatomy patients with acute pain nursing problems. Non-pharmacological therapy that will be carried out is by means of deep breathing relaxation combined with the use of aromatherapy. Objective : Knowing the effectiveness of non-pharmacological treatment by means of deep breathing relaxation and aromatherapy therapy to treat pain in Post Laparatomy patients. Methods : This study uses a descriptive method with a case approach. Case study research means research conducted by identifying a problem through a case consisting of a single case. Result : Of the 5 respondents before being given non-pharmacological therapy, they had different levels of pain with pain categories of 5-6, then after patients were given non- pharmacological therapy, deep breathing and aromatherapy for 3 days, the pain scale decreased to 3-4. This shows the effectiveness of the use of non-pharmacological therapy, deep breathing and aromatherapy. Conclusion : There is effectiveness of non-pharmacological therapy to reduce pain in Post Laparatomy sufferers by means of deep breathing relaxation and aromatherapy therapy.
