Abstract
Background: Postpartum bleeding can be prevented by stimulating the uterine involution process and by triggering the production of the hormone oxytocin. Endorphin massage is a light massage on the neck, arms, and hands that can stimulate and relax through the upper layers of the skin and trigger the release of the hormone oxytocin, which can stimulate uterine contractions. Prevention of uterine contraction failure can also be achieved through postpartum exercise, which involves movements carried out after birth to alleviate muscle pressure related to pregnancy and childbirth. Objective: To implement complementary midwifery care with endorphin massage and postpartum exercise to decrease uterine involution in the Rahma Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This study used a descriptive and case study approach. The total number of participants were 5 primiparous postpartum mothers aged 1-10 days. The assessment instrument used was an observation form. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature studies. Results: There were 3 respondents (100%) showed an accelerated decrease in uterine fundal height (TFU) after the application of complementary midwifery care involving endorphin massage and postpartum exercise.
