Abstract

Background The World Health Organization (WHO) states that the average rate of Sectio Caesarea is 10-15% per 1000 births worldwide with a prevalence rate of post-Sectio Caesarea pain of around 80%.If pain is not handled properly, it can lead to impaired phycial mobilization, hampered bonding attachment, limited activities of daily living (ADL), unmet Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) is not fulfilled properly, reduced baby nutrition because the mother is still in pain due to SC delivery, decreased sleep quality, stress and anxiety, and fear of having surgeries. Pain management can be done in two ways, namely pharmacological with drugs and also in non-pharmacological ways, one of which is fingerhold therapy. Physiologically, fingerhold relaxation techniques can reduce pain, but fingerhold will produce impulses that are sent through non-nociceptor afferent nerve fibers that lead to the pain gate so that it is controlled to release neurotransmitter inhibitors that inhibit and reduce pain stimuli Objectives To explaining obstetric care with Fingerhold therapy intervention to reduce post sectio caesarea pain in post sectio caesarea patients in the Rahmah Room, PKU Muhammadiyah GombonHospital Method The research method was an analytical description with a case study approach. The study involved 5 post CS mother at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital who received fingerhold therapy The results The non-pharmacological intervention of fingerhold therapy was found to be more effective in reducing the pain scale in post-sectio caesarean section patients in the Rahmah Room at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital compared to those who only received pharmacological therapy. Recommendation This midwifery care can be used as a reference to reduce post-CS pain nonpharmacologically
